Chapter 28

Roz is eating a German sausage – the only kind she liked – while thinking about Ruben.

She’d kept her underwear on while they swam in the sea. Ruben had stripped bare as he strode into the water.

On arriving home, she’d been amazed to find the house empty, so now she was sitting at the kitchen table eating the sausage with broccoli sauce. The back door stood open, the light fading fast.

After the swim, they’d got back into the car.

‘How did you find that?’ Ruben had asked.

‘Wet.’

On the drive home she’d been thinking about the swim, and she’d been pleased that there had been nothing brown floating in the water, but she hadn’t liked the feel of sand between her toes.

‘I’m no expert, but I think you do have a large penis,’ she’d said as they drove along the twisting road.

‘Have you ever noticed that nature has a strange sense of humour?’ Ruben had asked as he slowed down at a junction.

‘I don’t understand?’ Roz had questioned.

‘Well, think about it. There are probably plenty of highly sexed men out there who would like a large member, yet often they’re not well endowed in the genitalia department, and here’s me who some would class as blessed in the penis stakes, yet I have no interest in using it.’

Roz had thought long and hard before answering. ‘I have used a vibrator in the past, but I didn’t see or feel the appeal, so I never saw the point of finding a man to have sex with.’

‘Very wise,’ Ruben had commented as he turned left at the junction.

‘So, did I pass the test?’ she’d asked.

‘With flying colours.’

‘Good.’
